02.08.2018 19:13 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this week, while sharing an interview with the Ukrinform,
President of the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) Zenon Potichniy has said that the Ukrainian confections producers have agreed with Canadian distributors on the Canadian market entering.
«Ukrainian confectionery products’ exporters have managed to find distributors while participating within the Canadian exhibitions and have started to export their ready products overseas,» he said.
He added that the Canadian side has already received several requests from the Canadian companies that would like to come to Ukraine and inspect the Ukrainian confections producers’ output facilities before concluding contracts.
«Therefore, there is a great deal of interest within the trade between Canada and Ukraine,» Potichniy admitted.
As to the earlier report, the free trade agreement between Canada and Ukraine came into force on Aug 1, 2017. The agreement cancels 98% of tariffs for Ukrainian goods that will be sold to Canada. Some 72% of tariffs are immediately canceled for Canadian goods, and within the next seven years duty free export will grow to 98%.
