Groisman: Investments into agricultural sector are investments into State development
07.06.2018 19:11 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of this year Jun 69, Agro 2018 XXX International Agroindustrial Fair is taking place within «Expocenter of Ukraine» National Complex (Kyiv), Government Portal reports.
It is to be admitted, Agro 2018 is the largest Ukrainian thematic exhibition of the year, having over 10 profile expositions and over 1,200 participants from 15 countries.
As of yesterday, while speaking at the Fair, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said that the investments, first of all from the State, made into the development of the domestic agro-sector (including the segment of farming), are investments in the development of the State as a whole.
As to the report, while at the Fair, Groisman examined the expositions, talked with the agricultural companies and farms’ representatives and emphasized that the domestic agro-complex had since long become the engine of the Ukrainian economic development.
«The fifth part of everything what is now produced within Ukraine is related to the domestic agro-complex. New technologies and mechanisms used within the domestic agro-complex make our country stronger. Three million people (involved into the agro-complex) honestly carry out their business and bring harvests to Ukrainian and world consumers,» he stressed.
He reminded that this year the Government had launched an unprecedented program of support for the domestic agricultural sector, mainly for farmers and small farms. It goes about supporting of the domestic livestock (the farms will receive from UAH1,500 to UAH2,500 per cattle head, depending on the farm size), cheapening of the construction of livestock complexes, and development of horticulture and seed breeding.
«All this is our investments into the Ukrainian development, into our dominance on the global markets,» Groisman said. I am sure that a strong farmer means a strong State. We have a strong and great future. I express to you, agrarians, my support."
