20,000 pike perch, 150,000 perch juveniles released into Kakhovka water reservoir and Dnieper

As of recent, within the Zaporizhzhya region, 20,000 pike perch and 150,000 perch juveniles have been released into the Kakhovka water reservoir and the Dnieper river to improve the local biobalance, Ukrinform says referring to the Zaporizhzhya Regional Department of the Ukrainian State Fisheries Agency report.
As to the report, within this month, the Agency has succeeded to significantly replenish the biological resources of the Kakhovka water reservoir and the Dnieper River regional water areas. Thus, as of this year May 23, the Agency experts, together with the local activists, released 20,000 pike perch juveniles into the Kakhovka water reservoir. Besides, earlier, as of this year late Apr, 150,000 pike juveniles had been released into the Dnieper River.
As to the report, financing of the pike stocking process was provided by the State, while the pike perch juveniles had been bought by the activists of a local public organization who, all by themselves, are also trying to restore the former diversity of ichthyofauna within the Zaporozhia region water reservoirs.
