Sowing campaign 2018: grains maize has been sown at 91% total planned areas

As of this year May 16, Ukrainian agrarians have sown grains maize at 4.2 million ha (91% total planned areas),
Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, as of this year May 16, Ukrainian agrarians have spring grains (incl. grains maize) and /leguminous crops in total at 6.6 million ha or 90% total planned 7.4 million ha.
Thus, agrarians have sown already early speing grains at 2.2 million ha (94%), incl. wheat - at 165,000 ha (94%); barley - at 1.5 million ha (93%); oats - at 185,000 ha (91%); peas - at 414,000 ha (98%).
Besides, agrarians continue sowing also buckwheat and millet; agrarians have already sown buckwheat at 57,000 ha or 38% total planned (millet - 26,000 ha, 48%).
In meanwhile, agrarians continue sowing also technical crops; as of this year May 16, agrarians have sown sugar beet at 280,000 ha (94% total planned), sunflower - 5.2 million ha (94%), soybeans - 1.5 million ha (76%).
