Zimbabwe cane sugar output to reach 600,000 tons
10.05.2018 22:36 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Zimbabwe is expected to boost its cane sugar output within this processing season (2017/18) to almost 600,000 tons (thanks to the local agrarians having lifted their sugar cane output after having had made use of the State land reform and widened their irrigated land plots), Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to The Herald report.
As to the report, within the last processing season Zimbabwe produced about 490,000 tons cane sugar.
Reportedly, now the experts expect for Zimbabwe to boost its cane sugar output as this processing season (2017/18) has started with 2 additional processing plants (Hippo Valley and Triangle) having been launched. Thus, both processing plants have started working this year early May after the agrarians had begun providing them with cane for processing.
