Sowing campaign 2018: grains/leguminous crops sown at 2.1 million ha

As of this year Apr 27, Ukrainian agrarians have sown their early spring grains/leguminous crops at 2.1 million ha (89% of total planned areas to be sown), Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports. Reportedly, agrarians have already sown: spring barley - at 1.4 million ha (90% total planned); oats - at 173,000 ha (84%); wheat - at 149,000 ha (84%); peas - at 394,000 ha (93%).
As to the report, now the agrarians continue sowing maize; as of this year Apr 27, maize has been sown at 1.5 million ha (32%). Besides, agrarians have sown sugar beet at 253,000 ha (84%), sunflower at 2.5 million ha (45%) and soybeans at 262,000 ha (14%).
As to the report, now the agrarians continue fertilizing their winter grains’ sown areas. Thus, as of this year Apr 27, agrarians have already fertilized winter grains at 7.2 million ha (99% of total necessary). It is to be admitted, agrarians have already completed winter grains’ fertilizing within 16 regions.
Besides, agrarians have almost completed their winter rape fertilizing (977,000 ha or 97%).
