Trofimtseva: Ukrainian 2018 Jan-Feb agricultural products export almost US$3 milliard

As of 2018 Jan-Feb, the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex foreign trade turnover has totaled US$ 3.7 milliard (incl. US$ 2.8 milliard - export of Ukrainian agrarian and food products), Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food says referring to Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva report.
«Within this year first two months, Ukrainian agricultural export boosted by US$102.1 million against the last year similar, to US$2.8 milliard. Our traditional export leaders are, as earlier, grain crops (35.3% of total agricultural products export), vegetable oils ( 24.1%) and the oilseeds (12%),» Trofimsteva admitted.
As to Trofimtseva, within this period, Ukrainian poultry meat export boosted by US$29 million (eggs - US$11.4 million, butter - US$20 million, chocolate - US$7.5 million, grape wines - US$ 6.1 million).
«It is important, that the Ukrainian agricultural products export to the EU within this period has improved by 28.1% (or US$224.7 million) and reached US$1.025 milliard. Thus, now, the EU accounts for 36.5% of our total agricultural products export,» she stated.
She added that the largest importer of the Ukrainian agricultural products within this year Jan-Feb was India (which imported for US$ 335.9 million). Also, the top five largest buyer countries included Spain ( US$201.1 million), the Netherlands (US$199. 3 million), Egypt ( US$189.6 million) and Italy (US$185.6 million).
