15.02.2018 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of today, while commenting on the Gov 2017 work results, Ukrainian Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Ostap Semerak said that the uniting of the Government and the Parliament efforts on the solving of environmental problems shows there is a radical change within the ecological consciousness of Ukrainians, Government Portal reports.
It is to be reminded, as of recent, the European Union Ambassador Hug Mingarelli has commented on the results of Ukraine obtained within the implementation of the Association Agreement, noting the country has reached progress within the environment protection sphere.
«We have adopted a number of important documents that will strategically change the Ukrainian approach to the environmental problems. We have also succeeded in fulfilling a significant number of international commitments and entering the top ten leaders of the international climate policy,» Semerak admitted.
As to the Minister, the Ukrainian economy has gradually begun to reorient to a model of sustainable development. The country has begun to talk more about the importance of rapid implementation of the green energy-saving technologies.
«Ukraine has abandoned the imperfect environmental expert evaluation and has moved to European standards for environmental impact assessment. From now on, there is an effective mechanism working within our country to prevent the appearing of pollution and dangers, but not to fight against their consequences,» the Minister said.
