Ukrainian Food Safety Service Head, beekeepers associations representatives discussed issues of Ukrainian bees export to Canada

As of last week, Volodymyr Lapa, Head Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, had a meeting with representatives of Ukrainian and Canadian beekeepers associations’ representatives, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the Ukrainian side was represented by the Public Orgaization «All-Ukrainian Brotherhood of Beekeepers of Ukraine», headed by the Board Chairwoman Tetiana Vasylkivska; Canada was represented by George Scott, President of one of the largest beekeepers’ associations of the state of Niagara.
Within the meeting, the sides discussed the export of Ukrainian bees to Canada (the issue which had been discussed between the two countries still since 2015).
As to the report, within the meting John Scott told that within his stay within Ukraine he had got acquainted with the country epizootic situation, conditions of bees keeping and breeding as well as the beekeeping State-control system. The results he got testify to the high culture of the Ukrainian bees keeping and breeding.
As to him, upon returning to Canada, he will recommend to the competent authorities of his country to accelerate the Canadian party consideration of the issue of allowing Ukraine to export its live bees to Canada.
