Ukrainian 2017 vegetables crop totaled 9.3 million tons

As of 2017, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 9.3 million tons of vegetable crops from 446.3 thousand ha (average yield 207.8 metric centners per ha). Besides, the potato harvest amounted to 22.2 million tons from 1.3 million ha (average yield with a yield of 167.8 metric centners per ha), Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service report.
At same time, 8.7 million tons (94% of total vegetables) were harvested on the open ground from 440.3 thousand ha with an average yield of 197.9 metric centners per ha; on the closed ground, agrarians collected 0.56 million tons (6% total) from 6,000 ha with average yield of metric centners per ha.
Highest harvests were assured by: headed cabbage 1.6 million tons from 63,700 ha (average yield 259.3 metric centners per ha);
tomatoes 2.26 million tons from 74,200 ha (average yield 304.9 metric centners per ha); onions 0,97 million tons from 54,700 ha (average yield 177,5 metric centners per ha).
carrots 838,000 from 42,700 ha (average yield 195,2 metric centners per ha).
As to the report, the highest vegetable crops were reached within Kherson region (1,26 million tons), Dnipropetrovsk region (0,7 million tons), Kharkiv region (0,69 million tons), Kiyv region (0,57 million tons), Mycklayiv region (0,55 million tons) and Lviv region (0.51 million tons).
