WB to invest about US$570 million into Belarus economy within five years

As of this week, while meeting with the Grodno region authorities, World Bank Country Manager for Belarus Alex Kremer said the World Bank will invest about US$570 million into the Belarus economy within five years, World Bank Country Manager for Belarus Alex Kremer said as he met with the Grodno region authorities, Ukrinform says referring to BelTA report.
As to him, thanks to the support of the World Bank, Belarus has reached a new level within the field of domestic waste disposal and continues to work in this area.
A project to produce refuse-derived fuel is in the pipelines, Grodno Governor Vladimir Kravtsov said.
«We will jointly work to improve the business climate, create better conditions for private investment,» Kremer says. As to him, about US$60 million will be allocated to provide loans to small and medium-sized businesses.
As to the report, upon whole, around US$570 million will be invested into the Belarusian economy within five years.
