Ukraine to join Batumi Initiative on Green Economy

As of this week, while speaking at a press conference, Ukrainian Deputy Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Mykola Kuzyo said Ukraine opted to join the Batumi Initiative on Green Economy, Ukrinform says referring to
«Ukraine has announced its intention to join the Batumi Initiative on Green Economy within the framework of cooperation with our international partners,» he said.
As to him, this initiative provides for the implementation of the relevant activities at the state level which are aimed at developing of the green economy to achieve the environment friendly economic growth and contribute to the preservation of the environment.
As to the report, Kuzyo noted that the Batumi Initiative is a pan-European project that was launched last year. A total of 25 countries and 13 international organizations have already joined the initiative, which includes 117 commitments.
