Also, the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the technical assistance provided by the Canadian side and briefed interlocutors on future initiatives, successful projects that have already been kicked off and continue to be implemented. Among them, in particular, is creation and training of the Ukrainian National Police, the development of a system of free legal aid, support for local economic development, the contribution both to the development of democracy through the promotion of gender equality and journalistic anti-corruption investigations, and the quality of election monitoring.
As to the report, a special emphasis within the meeting was placed on a gender equality issue: it is to be admitted, within Jun 2017 the Government of Canada had announced the launch of a new Feminist International Assistance Policy.
