Poroshenko: High-level strategic commission must reflect Ukraine-Canada partnership intensity
25.09.2017 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of last week, while on a working visit to Canada, and while speaking after the negotiations with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, President of Ukrainian Petro Poroshenko said the Ukraine-Canada partnership rests on solid foundations of concrete and mutually beneficial results. The FTA Agreement between our countries opens a new chapter within our trade and economic cooperation, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«I am glad that our partnership rests on solid foundations of concrete and mutually beneficial results. Today’s meeting proves that,» Poroshenko stressed.
As to the report, the President admitted that the parties held a productive discussion on a broad range of areas where Ukraine and Canada cooperate as truly Special Partners.
«What I mentioned to Justin at the very beginning of our meeting there is no mechanism to reflect the intensity of our partnership and its strategic nature. So, I suggested setting a Strategic Commission at the highest level. I believe that our Canadian friends will take this idea on board,» the President said.
As to Poroshenko, significant achievements were celebrated this year that bring our countries even closer together. He reminded that Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement entered into force last month.
«The Agreement opens a new chapter in our trade and economic cooperation. But also it opens doors for our businesses,» the President noted.
