UNICEF brings supplies to Rohingya children within Bangladesh
15.09.2017 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Emergency water, sanitation and hygiene supplies are being shipped to support thousands of Rohingya children in Bangladesh, UN Radio says referring to the UN Childrens Fund (UNICEF) report.
As to the report, the UNICEF trucks are shipping the items to the south-eastern city of Coxs Bazar, representing the first wave of supplies of the emergency response that will be enlarged.
It is to be admitted, the Rohingya are a Muslim minority from Myanmar. Recent violence has forced up to 400,000 community members to flee to neighbouring Bangladesh, with more arriving each day.
Preliminary estimates indicated that around 60% of the displaced are children.
The UNICEF is among UN agencies on the ground that are providing support.
