09.08.2017 23:39 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The revenues from the Ukrainian agricultural export to Canada within Jan-Jun 2017 already amounted to US$5.876 million (while they totaled US$4.869 million within the entire 2016), Ukrinform says referring to Ukrainian Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Olgha Trofimtseva report.
«Despite the fact we are still net importers in bilateral agricultural trade with Canada, we see a fairly significant trend towards an increase in the volume of our exports. As to the statistics for the first half of 2017, Ukrainian agricultural export to Canada amounted to US$5.876 million. At the same time, this figure was only US$4.869 million for the entire 2016. Another advantage is that the key commodities of our export were the processed food products: butter, juices, honey,» Trofimtseva notes.
She adds that now Ukraine could ship to the Canadian markets 108 categories of agricultural goods at a zero rate of import duty due to establishment of the free trade area between Ukraine and Canada.
As to the earlier report, the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement had come into force this year Aug 1.
