Canada sees launch of free trade with Ukraine as a priority

The launch of effective free trade with Ukraine is a priority for Canada Ministry of International Trade, Ukrinform says referring to Marc-Andre Poirier, special assistant at the office of the Canadian Minister of International Trade, report.
«The free trade agreement with Ukraine is a priority for [Canadian Minister of International Trade Francois-Philippe] Champagne, and we are very pleased that it will come into force soon,» Poirier said.
He added that the Minister would promote Canadian-Ukrainian interests within his work.
It is to be admitted, the free trade agreement between Canada and Ukraine was signed as of last year Jul 11 within a visit by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Kyiv. It enters into force as of this year Aug 1.
After that, Canada will immediately cancel customs duties on 99.9% of Ukrainian imports. Ukraine, in turn, will also cancel 86% of customs duties on imports from Canada, bringing customs policy to parity within seven years.
