19.06.2017 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of last week, while speaking within the meeting of the Ukrainian National Council of Reforms dedicated to the pension reform, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he is confident that the improvement of the country economic situation gives an opportunity to take steps to increase financial support of pensioners who need state assistance the most, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
The President emphasized that modernization of pensions can be held already within 2017.
«The Government must take fast practical steps that will alleviate suffering of pensioners right now. It is my demand, as of President, and, I am confident, the demand of society,» he noted.
«A person who retires within 20162017 with a high salary has a high pension. A person who retired within 20092010 with the same work experience, the same fees from the average wage has much smaller pension. First of all those who receive unfairly lowest pensions will get the increase as a result of this modernization,» Poroshenko stressed.
As to the President, the minimum pension must also be boosted this year. «I think we can consider an opportunity to do it not within Dec, but within Nov or even Oct. Please, consider this issue carefully,» he said.
