Ukrainian, Slovakian Presidents meeting

As of yesterday, within his working trip to Zakarpattia region, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the Ukrainian President thanked his Slovak colleague for his visit to Ukraine on such an important day, «that will remain in the history of modern Ukraine».
As to the report, the two leaders took part in the symbolic ceremony of opening the doors to Europe on the Ukrainian-Slovak border on the occasion of the introduction of the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the Schengen Area.
«On June 11, due to your active participation and support, Ukraine gained the opportunity not only to visit Europe without visas. This day symbolizes the return of my nation to the European family,» Poroshenko noted.
Reportedly, the Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to the Slovak party for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence, as well as reforms. «I am grateful to you for being a true friend of Ukraine,» he stressed.
In his turn, the President of Slovakia congratulated Ukrainians on the introduction of the visa-free regime with the EU.
«Sometimes dreams come true,» Andrej Kiska said.
He added that as President of the country who has been a member of the socialist bloc, he really understands why the return to the European family is a cherished dream.
The Slovakian President emphasized that Ukraine had carried out a lot of reforms and kept moving forward. He assured of further support by Slovakia to Ukraine on its path to Europe.
