12.06.2017 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Cabinet, within the framework of strengthening a policy of development of new markets and reinforcement of intergovernmental relations, is going to improve the format of activities of intergovernmental trade and economic commissions, Government Portal says referring to Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman report made within last week Cabinet special meeting held with the participation of officials.
As to the report, within the meeting the parties agreed that the current work of most commissions is just formal, and so there occurs the need to elaborate a new model of cooperation, in particular: to identify priority lines for the country to ensure the development of collaboration and to shape a plan of international meetings at least for the coming 3 years. In addition, it was recognized as appropriate to establish in priority countries special departments within the embassies with fixed KPI and the responsibility for organizing exports and leveraging investment.
Reportedly, while commenting on the meeting results, Groisman said: «I am ready to support a new model of work of the commissions, their subordinance structure and direction of activities in part of determining priority countries. Lets single out roughly 20 priority countries, define composition and objectives for the commissions, develop with the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and submit it to the Government’s consideration.»
As to the report, First Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv was appointed the Coordinator of this work.
