Kistion: Government to support Concept of Ukrainian Gas Industry Development till 2020

As of today, while speaking within the opening of the Second «Ukrainian Gas Investment Forum ’17», Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion has said the Cabinet is committed to create favourable environment to ensure the implementation of the key provisions contained in the Concept of development of gas production industry of Ukraine up to 2020, Government Portal reports.
«The Government is eager to provide comprehensive support to the market participants for the implementation of core objectives of the Concept of development of gas industry of Ukraine until 2020, as well as to improve investment conditions,» Kistion admitted.
He reminded that the Concept had been adopted by the Government within last year Dec, and the essential target stipulated in this document was growing domestic production of natural gas up to 27 billion cubic meters.
«A key goal included in the Concept is to reduce Ukrainian dependence on gas imports and to enhance energy security of the State. A target until 2020 is to boost extraction of the Ukrainian gas up to 27 billion cubic meters,» noted the Vice Prime Minister.
Volodymyr Kistion accentuated that cooperation of all stakeholders is needed to realize this gaol.
«It is crucial to ensure synergy among officials, MPs, representatives of the gas extracting companies and gas industry associations in execution of the Concept of development of gas production,» Kistion said, adding the Government, for its part, will support introduction of legislative changes necessary to boost domestic gas output.
