Ukraine, Turkey to sign a document providing for mutual travels with ID cards

As of today, the Cabinet has adopted a decree «On signing the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Turkish Republic on amendments to the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Turkish Republic on conditions of mutual trips of citizens», Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the document stipulates that the travelers from both countries can be entering, leaving and staying for 90 days on the territory of the countries-signatories to the Agreement without usual foreign passports but having an ID-card containing electronic data storage device.
In meanwhile, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said that following week he would pay a working visit to the Republic of Turkey.
«During this visit we are planning to sign a joint document with our Turkish partners, which stipulates for conditions of travel to Turkey with electronic identity cards instead of foreign passports. This opens up new opportunities enhancing convenience of tourists,» Groisman admitted.
«The good news for Ukrainian citizens who travel to Turkey,» he said.
