Zubko: Sectoral decentralization breakthrough expected within 2017

As of today, while addressing the participants of the forum «From creating of consolidated communities towards sustainable growth», Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Minister of Regional Development, Building, Housing and Utilities Ghennadiy Zubko has said that projects implemented in Ukrainian consolidated communities is the materialization of the reform of local governance much expected by the whole country, Government Portal reports.
As to Zubko, schools, kindergartens, roads, street lighting, central heating transfer to alternative energy sources these things are becoming possible, when it is you, each particular community, that is defining strategies and priorities for your own development.
«The future of the State depends on action, priorities and strategy of each particular community. It is of utmost importance that through the tools of budgetary decentralization, introduction of a model of the New Ukrainian school, pursuing of the healthcare reform, planning of territories, establishment of Administrative Service Centres the consolidated communities could reach an entirely different quality of services. We expect that 2017 will see a breakthrough within sectoral decentralization,» Zubko emphasized.
