Belarus bans poultry import from Chernivtsi Region

As of yesterday, Belarus imposed a ban on poultry import from Chernivtsi Region due to the cases of avian influenza recorded within the region, Ukrinform says referring to Aliaksandr Subotsin, Director of the Veterinary and Food Control Department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus, report.
«The ban will come into effect from Jan 5, but it will be temporary. Now we are revoking all permits previously issued to Bukovyna entrepreneurs,» Subotsin admits.
It is to be admitted, the list of banned products includes live poultry; eggs; wild, zoo and circus animals; poultry meat; egg products; down and feathers. The import shipments of poultry feed additives and poultry management equipment are also restricted.
