Ukraine to receive US$50 million under DOBRE program

As of today, Oct 25, the program Decentralization Offering Better Results and Efficiency (DOBRE) has been launched with the assistance of the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Ukrinform says referring to Ghennadiy Zubko, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Regional Development, Construction and Housing Minister report made within the opening ceremony dedicated to the DOBRE program launch.
As to Zubko, under this program, US$50 million will be allocated for the development of the Ukrainian territorial communities.
«This powerful program is a part of the decentralization reform in Ukraine, which is being implemented with the support of US Agency for International Development (USAID). A total US$50 million will be allocated to Ukraine within 201621,» the Minister said.
As to Zubko, the program is aimed at supporting local communities in implementing projects, elaborating new strategic plans for regions and improving the services’ quality.
As to him, presently 25 consolidated communities are members of the program. Another 25 communities will be chosen within next year Mar-Apr, and another 25 communities within next year Sept-Oct.
