World must take note of "record-high" carbon dioxide level
03.10.2016 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of last week, UNISDR (UN office for disaster risk reduction) Chief Robert Glasser urged world leaders to strengthen their commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that make the planet warmer, UN Radio reports.
As to Glasser, UNISDR is deeply disturbed by the record-high carbon dioxide readings registered within this year Sept.
As to him, for the first time, global levels of 400 parts per million have been reached.
As to the media reports, thats 50 parts per million more than what is considered «safe» by most experts, and some experts now believe it will be impossible to bring levels down below the 400 mark.
