Rozenko: We forecast that social standards boost will overrate inflation this year
05.08.2016 13:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
While sharing an interview with the NewsOne TV channel, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Pavlo Rozenko said he is convinced that within 2016 the Ukrainian social standards’ growth rates will exceed the inflation similar, Government Portal reports.
«We forecast that the boost in social standards will overrate this year Ukrainian inflation. For the first time in past three years we have, against 2015, the growth of real wages by 12%. This figure is already adjusted for inflation. That is, the pace of improving wages exceeds inflation. An average Ukrainian salary makes up about UAH5,000,» Rozenko admitted.
As to him, within the past six months Ukrainian authorities have managed to stabilize the national currency, and prices in the markets, including food, medicines and industrial products.
«If within the next six months we preserve similar rates of wage growth, we will be able to cover inflationary impact that we had in 20142015,» Vice PM noted.
«The overall situation in the economy and the indicators of wage growth give grounds to say that Ukraine has already passed the outermost point in the slowdown and we are starting to recover from the severe socio-economic crisis in which Ukraine has been for the past three years,» Rozenko summed up.
