Balcerowicz: Ukraine has done a lot on the track of reforms in two years. It is time to speed up

27.05.2016 09:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of yesterday, the Co-Chair of the Group of Strategic Advisors in the Government, Advisor to the President Leszek Balcerowicz told about the completion of the first phase of work of economic consultants and expressed satisfaction with the level of interaction with President Petro Poroshenko and the Cabinet of Ministers, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports. As to the report, Balcerowicz called the Plan of the Top-Priority Steps of the Government for 2016 presented the day before at the National Council of Reforms a very professional document. «For today, the main issue is to implement this plan,» he said. As to him, implementation of reforms requires close and efficient interaction with the Parliament: «Necessary reforms require new laws. Working procedures of the Government and Parliament must be reformed». «Democracy doesn’t contradict with discipline. Good democracy requires discipline of people’s deputies,» Balcerowicz said and noted the necessity of preventing the possibility of adoption of «harmful laws».
