Poroshenko met with representatives of commission for election of National Agency for Prevention of Corruption members
16.03.2016 11:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of today, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has met with representatives of the commission for election of members of the Ukrainian National Agency for Prevention of Corruption, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the President has urged them to appoint two members of the NAPC, for it remains the last unfulfilled requirement for the establishment of the visa-free regime of the EU.
Reportedly, while addressing the attendees, the President emphasized: «I do not call any surnames, I do not know the background of candidates. I am confident that the representative appointed by me has a strong pro-Ukrainian position just like anyone of you. For today, the pro-Ukrainian position requires two members of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption to be elected by this morning for me to fly to Brussels with your protocol. Arm the President for the protection of Ukrainian interests».
As to the report, Poroshenko reminded that Ukraine had been moving towards the introduction of the visa-free regime with the EU within 7 years. Today, Ukraine enjoys full support of the European Commission in this issue. «They trust us. The main position is not to undermine this confidence,» Poroshenko said.
