President: Ukraine carries out important anti-corruption measures due to requirements on EU visa-free regime

As of yesterday, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis held negotiations in Kyiv, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, in his conversation with media following the negotiations with the Latvian President, Poroshenko told
that the assessment mission of the European Commission had noted significant progress of Ukraine in the fulfillment of requirements on visa-free regime with the EU,

As to the report, Poroshenko noted that at the beginning of Nov, the Ukrainian Parliament would consider recent legislative amendments Ukraine must implement for the introduction of visa-free regime.
As to the President, Ukraine has made important anti-corruption steps, particularly the establishment of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the post of special anti-corruption prosecutor.
Poroshenko admitted that there were 30 candidates for that post.
«It demonstrates that we have a political will to struggle against corruption. We have elaborated a system of struggle against that. And it is not only the aspiration for the visa-free regime. We are willing to reform the country. It is a decisive position of the entire Ukrainian nation,» the President said.
It is to be admitted, the Latvian President stands for the intensification of people to people contacts. And the visa-free regime will contribute to that. As to him, the visa-free regime is an important instrument for the Ukrainian integration into the EU.
