Poroshenko: Ukraine ready to pay over UAH10 milliard to restore Donbas infrastructure
15.10.2015 16:58 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
"As of now, the Ukrainian authorities have accumulated over UAH10 milliard which could be directed for the infrastructure restoration. Our European and US partners will add four or five times more," NRCU reports quoting the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko as speaking in an interview with the Dnipropetrovsk television late on Tue.
As to the report, Poroshenko admitted that the German Chancellor Angela Merkel had said her country is ready to provide EUR500 million that could be urgently allocated to restore the Donbas infrastructure.
«We will do that - but for that, peace is to be established, the Ukrainian flag and Ukraine’s sovereignty should be restored. I have no doubts that they would not survive in this situation,» he added.
Reportedly, Poroshenko also said that a week ago the Ukrainian authorities had sent a group with equipment in order to restore water supply in the region - but the militants didn’t allow the group doing that.
Poroshenko admitted that Ukraine had informed OSCE about that at once.
