Ukrainian agriculture ministry forecasts wheat exports at 16 million MT

While speaking at the briefing yesterday, the Ukrainian Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Volodymyr Lapa said that the Ministry f recasts the Ukrainian farmers will ship abroad about 16 million MT wheat (incl. 8 million MT of food wheat and the same amount of feed wheat) within the current 2015/16 MY (Jul 2015-Jun 2016), UNIAN reports.
«We see that nearly half of the total amount of planned wheat exports about 7.58 million MT out of 16 million MT will be food wheat shipments,» Volodymyr Lapa said.
As to the report, also said that 16 million MT wheat to be shipped for export was sealed in a memorandum signed by the Ministry and grain traders. This document allows the government and all market players to determine volumes of domestic shipments and exports at the beginning of the MY in order to ensure Ukrainian food security.
As to Lapa, food wheat shares 55% of this years total Ukrainian wheat harvest estimated at 26 million MT.
As to him, this year the share of feed wheat is somewhat up against the last year similar due to abundant precipitation within the harvesting campaign in some regions.
As to the earlier report, the Ministry had forecasted that the Ukrainian grain exports within this MY will total 36.8 million MT.
