Ukrainian grains crop reached 45.5 mn MT, average yield – 37.7 metric centners per ha

As of today, while speaking within briefing held ahead of the Cabinet direct phone line, the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Volodymyr Lapa said Ukraine had harvested (as of this year Oct 8) 45.5 mn MT grains (average yield - 37.7 metric centners per ha), Government Portal reports.
«Within the last year similar the average yield was a bit better - that is, 38.5 metric centners per ha. But this year situation has been negatively affected by objective factors such as rather dry weather conditions,» the Deputy Minister said.
He added that Ukrainian agrarians had (as of this year Oct 8) harvested grains/leguminous crops at 12.1 mn ha (83% total planned).
As to him, highest grains’ crop was harvested by Kharkiv region agrarians - 3.7 mn MT (Odesa region - 3.5 mn MT, Dnipropetrovsk region - 3.4 mn MT).
Lapa admitted Ukrainian grains’ highest average yield was registered in Cherkasy region - 52.9 metric centners per ha.
