07.10.2015 10:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of yesterday, at the first meeting of the National Council for Anti-Corruption Policy, President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that resonant corruption disclosures took place in Ukraine almost every day,
President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to Poroshenko, over 1500 persons were brought to criminal liability in the last 2 months.
«It is an indicator that we have started a real war against this most dreadful evil,» the Head of State emphasized.
Finally, judges can also be brought to justice: the High Qualification Commission of Judges and the High Council of Justice have started their work. They can withdraw the immunity of judges.
As to the President, if the Parliament approved the draft law on constitutional amendments regarding the abolition of parliamentary and restriction of judicial immunity, the work in that direction would be significantly simplified.
The President noted that the new infrastructure is being built for the more efficient struggle against corruption.
«We are finishing the creation of proper infrastructure and forming squadrons of honest and incorruptible law enforcers on the basis of transparent competition,» he said.
As to the report, the President expressed hope that the Parliament would approve corresponding commissions soon. «We are waiting for brave, honest, professional lawyers who will present a new face of the public prosecution,» he said.
«We will create a very powerful system that will eliminate Soviet remnants and introduce new approaches to the formation of the law enforcement bodies under the European principles,» Poroshenko emphasized.
