While speaking in the European Parliament today, the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said he will do his best to facilitate the liberalization of the visa regime with Ukraine, but Kyiv needs to fulfill all the preconditions first, NRCU reports.
As to the report , he also said the European Union supports the policies of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. Those who doubt EU support for Ukraine are mistaken in their belief.
As to Juncker, Brussels has offered its support to Poroshenko and will continue its assistance. The European Commission President said that the EU had already provided EUR3.4 milliard in financial assistance to Kyiv, had prepared an agreement on energy supply, and is helping to conduct judicial reform.
Besides, he said that the Revolution of Dignity last year was not just about democracy and closer ties with the European Union, but it was also a protest against corruption. So, Juncker said that in its fight against corruption, Ukrainians can count on the European Union’s help.
