Poroshenko: There will be no reforms without decentralization

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko
had a meeting with public representatives to discuss topical issues of the State development. The main topic of the discussion was related to the constitutional amendments on decentralization, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the Head of State agreed with most attendees that it is essential to organize better communication with society regarding the essence of constitutional amendments. «We must jointly explain people that changes do not pose threat, but bring the victory closer,» the President said.
«We need peace in order to win. This is what should unite us,» the Head of State emphasized urging everyone to find words that will help unite the nation.
Reportedly, the President noted that due to the sociological surveys, «the lion’s share of the population supports decentralization».
«We need people’s support. There will be no reforms without decentralization,» Poroshenko emphasized.
As to the report, the discussion was attended by prominent cultural figures, scientists, lawyers, sociologists, clergy representatives and social activists.
