PM says legislation allows sales of almost 3 tons of seized amber at auction and transfer of this money to State Budget

While speaking within the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs meeting yesterday, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said the MIA had seized almost 3 tons of amber worth about UAH60 million, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, Yatseniuk reminded that the Ukrainian legislation allows sales of this amber at auction and transfer of funds received from the sale to the State Budget.
It is to be admitted, the confiscated 2,640 kg of amber have been brought today to Kyiv and presented to journalists in the Interior Ministry.
As to the report, Yatseniuk appreciated the work of the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov and all the Interior Ministry, which had revealed another fact of illegal amber production.
Reportedly, the PM reminded that within this month the State Fiscal Service by efforts of the tax police had seized 80 kilograms of amber in Zakarpatia region.
«And now it’s about approximately 3 tons of amber worth UAH60 million,» he said.
