08.06.2015 16:10 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Belarus Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk is certain that Belarus and Pakistan are to reach US$1 milliard in mutual trade, Belarus Radio reports referring to BelTA.
«Pakistan is home to nearly 200 million people. It is a huge market. We should take a serious approach towards entering this market,» the minister stressed citing the MTZ as an example. In the best years the Belarusian tractor giant exported over 12,000 tractors to Pakistan. Today this figure is less than 3,000. «Our goal number one is not just return our positions to supply the previous amount of tractors, but increase the deliveries up to 20,000,» Vovk emphasized.
As to the report, an agreement was signed between MTZ and Pakistan’s MTW PAK Assembling Industries on the delivery of 2,000 tractor sets and 500 tractors during the official visit of the President of Belarus to Pakistan.
Reportedly, BelAZ also plans to expand its presence on the market of Pakistan. The Belarusian Autoworks is establishing cooperation with a number of Pakistani companies.
