Georgia suggests setting up joint agricultural companies with Belarus

While speaking at the Belagro 2015 expo, the Georgian Minister of Agriculture Otar Daneliya told
Georgia is interested in creating joint agricultural companies with Belarus, Belarus Radio reports referring to BelTA.
As to the report, the Minister stressed that Georgia sees Belarus not only as a friend but also as an important strategic partner. «The visit of the Belarus President to Georgia opened a new page in the bilateral relations,» Daneliya said.
Thus, the parties agreed on the important issues of the cooperation in various fields.
As to the report, the establishment of joint ventures both in Georgia and Belarus was discussed among other things.
Reportedly, Otar Daneliya said the two countries are considering poultry farming and production of agricultural equipment as possible areas of cooperation. The details will be discussed later this month.
«One of the interesting trends is the popularization of Georgian grape varieties in Belarus,» the Minister added.
As to Daneliya, he believes that the cooperation between Belarus and Georgia is quite productive.
