Pavlenko: Agricultural industry has become the engine of Ukrainian economy

The agricultural sector is now the locomotive of Ukrainian economy, for it comprises about forty percent of all Ukraines exports, NRCU says referring to Oleksiy Pavlenko, the Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food report made at today meeting with professors and students of Kherson State Agrarian University.
«Now our agricultural sector has become the engine of the economy. Agricultural products make 37 per cent of total Ukrainian exports. Agricultural industry makes up 20 percent of our GDP,» Pavlenko admitted.
As to the Minister, «we have a huge potential, and taking into account our calculations and those by foreign experts, we can almost triple our agricultural production without GMO.»
As to Pavlenko, Ukraine can achieve these results by using the advanced modern European technologies.
