Poroshenko: Europe urgently needs solidarity with Ukraine

As of today, within his speech at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has emphasized that Ukraine is struggling for peace in the entire Europe; and it is vital for Europe to demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«Ukraine is on the forefront of Europe’s struggle for peace,» the Head of State noted in his speech at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga. The President has emphasized that Ukraine was fighting not only for its land. «We are fighting for Georgia, Moldova, Armenia and Belarus for their opportunity of becoming European countries and sharing the same values and principles,» Poroshenko said.
As to the report, the Ukrainian President expressed his support to the greater «ambitions and vision» of the Eastern Partnership Summit, taking into account Russian aggression, annexation of Crimea and signature of the Association Agreement.
«We must become stronger. We must demonstrate that we are united and democratic countries determined and able to implement reforms. It must be our common interest,» the Head of State stressed.
Reportedly, Poroshenko also said the Eastern Partnership could have been more instrumentally efficient. As to him, there is a question whether the Eastern Partnership initiative could play greater role and respond to the challenges implementation of reforms, ensuring borders, security and peace. «Finally, there is a question whether it is able to bring the European prospect to the countries that deserve and want it,» Poroshenko said.
«I believe that we all want peace and stability, better life and greater freedom for people, larger partnership and cooperation on the continent,» the Head of State noted.
As to the report, the President has particularly emphasized that Ukraine had worked a long way up since the beginning of implementing the visa regime liberalization plan and was ready to fulfill the rest technical conditions necessary for the introduction of the visa-free regime in 2016.
