20.04.2006 14:25 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As of Apr 18, agricultural companies have sown rape at 30,800 ha (of total planned 330,000 ha), reported Ministry of Agrarian Policy press-service.
As to report, each day agrarians are sowing rape at 6,100 ha.
As earlier reported, as of Apr 11, rape was sown at 6,300 ha.
As earlier reported, Oleksandr Baranivskiy, Minister of Agrarian Policy, is certain this year spring agrarians will actively sow rape/soybeans instead of sunflower, thus reducing sunflower sown areas against 2005.
Ministry of Agrarian Policy had earlier forecasted in 2006 agrarians would sow spring rape at 169,900 ha (up against 86,800 ha in 2005).
