Yatseniuk: Attempts of officials to plunder country and abdicate responsibility are doomed

25.03.2015 16:11 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — "The Ukrainian Government has given clear and strict instructions to ensure the true fight against corruption within the country," Government Portal reports quoting the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk as saying at the Government meeting on Wed, Mar 25. «The country is at war, spending milliards on the army and defense, the people help to ensure our Armed Forces and our country withstand this terrible war with Russia,» Yatseniuk emphasized. As to the report, the PM reminded that the Cabinet had launched a series of official investigations into the activities of senior officials. In particular, such internal investigation into the activities of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine ended, resulting into the dismissal of SFS deputy chairman and the resignation of SFS chairman Ihor Bilous: «Materials containing 20 thousand pages were studied by the Investigation Commission and forwarded to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to institute relevant criminal proceedings». Reportedly, Yatseniuk also reminded that three weeks before the Government had launched an internal investigation against the head of the State Financial Inspection, who, hiding behind the political forces, is trying to evade responsibility. «The investigation process will end, the materials will be forwarded to law enforcement agencies. And neither a political force nor political slogans will afford the head of the State Financial Inspection to avoid responsibility,» he said. As to the report, the PM told that the Ministry of Internal Affairs was engaged in an investigation into the activities of the heads of certain public companies, including the Agrarian Fund, the Ukrspyrt company, a food and grain company, energy facilities. Moreover, the Government has removed leaders of certain enterprises of Ukrzaliznytsia, which were subjected to internal investigations. «Any attempts of railway chiefs to plunder the country and abdicate responsibility are doomed,» Yatseniuk stressed.
