UNESCO: Youth can improve world through radio
13.02.2015 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Radio can help to create a more inclusive and prosperous society especially if young people are more represented in the medium, UN Radio says referring to the
UNESCO (UN cultural agency) report made on the fourth annual World Radio Day (Feb 13).
The report admits now too few programs are devoted to, or designed, by young people.
As to the report, nowadays radio reaches more people in more places than any other medium.
Radio is a bridge of communication for remote communities, developing regions and vulnerable populations, sometimes with no other connection to the outside world.
The report admits on this years World Radio Day, one problem in particular is being highlighted: that is,
the voices of the generation under 30 years old (which accounts for more than half of the worlds population) are not present enough in the radio programs worldwide.
