Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister will sign Protocol on amendments to Basic multilateral agreement on TRACECA

The Ukrainian Government has supported the President draft Order to authorize the Minister of Infrastructure to sign on behalf of Ukraine the Protocol amendments to the Basic multilateral agreement on international transport for development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia Corridor, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, Ukraine and other countries participating in the TRACECA programme will develop the market of international railferry transportation. During the 11th annual meeting the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission in Istanbul scheduled signing of the Protocol on amendments to the Basic multilateral agreement on international transport for development of the Europe- Caucasus-Asia Corridor.
Reportedly, the draft Order of the Ukrainian President on authorizing of the Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Andriy Pywowarskiy to sign the Protocol had been supported by the Government on January 21.
«The signing of this Protocol will afford to create an international legal mechanism for the transportation of goods in rail ferry communication with the involvement of port authorities, port operators, the national railway operators and shipping companies on the Black and Caspian Seas,» Pywowarskiy explained within the Cabinet meeting.
As to the report, amendments to the Agreement on international transport for development of the Europe- Caucasus-Asia Corridor shall improve mutual conditions of transit of goods between the TRACECA member countries. Ukraine will have alternative transport communications to establish trade relations with the countries of Europe and Asia, which will significantly strengthen its competitive position on the world markets of transport services and will create conditions for increasing the level of integration of the national transport and transit infrastructure into Eurasia logistics projects.
