OECD Secretary General promises Poroshenko backing for Ukraine reform program

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko discussed a cooperation program and an action plan aimed at supporting the program of reforms in Ukraine with Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Secretary General Jose Angel Gurria during a meeting in Davos, NRCU says referring to the Ukrainian President website report.
«Gurria has confirmed that the decision of the OECD of March 12, 2014 on the suspension of the process of Russias accession to the OECD and the intensification of cooperation with Ukraine remained in force. According to him, all members of the Organization still observe this position,» the report reads.
As to the report, special joint events are planned to take place within the coming days on implementing of the anti-corruption policy in Ukraine and establishing its institutional capability, which stipulate
the fulfillment of a series of projects in strategic economic sectors: the agriculture business, mechanical engineering, the energy sector (particularly renewable energy) and the support of small and medium sized business.
Reportedly, Gurria assured that the OECD was willing to enhance its program of cooperation with Ukraine. As to him, Estonia, Lithuania, USA, Slovakia, Sweden and the EU had already confirmed their readiness to become donors in general. Poroshenko noted that 15 years of cooperation between Ukraine and the OECD had created a good basis for the fulfillment of joint projects that would facilitate the implementation of reforms and the Association Agreement with the EU.
