Ukrainian President held a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Prime Minister of Poland Ewa Kopacz, who is on her first working visit to Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the visit of the Prime Minister is aimed at the enhancement of bilateral economic relations between the governments of Ukraine and Poland, as well as the development of mutually beneficial trade between the two countries.
Reportedly, within the meeting the parties discussed the current state of the Ukrainian-Polish relations, the coordination of actions for the enhancement of the European integration of Ukraine and the provision of financial assistance to Ukraine from the EU, particularly the Third package of macro-financial assistance of the EU.
As to the report, the President thanked the Prime Minister for the humanitarian assistance provided by Poland.
Reportedly, special attention was paid to cooperation in defense sphere, particularly in the context of intensification of interaction in military-technical cooperation and acceleration of the process of formation of the Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade.
As to the report, while speaking of energy cooperation, the Prime Minister assured of Poland’s readiness to take part in the modernization of Ukrainian power stations aimed at the enhancement of their technical capacities on the use of various types of coal, which will facilitate the growth of Ukraine’s energy independence.
Reportedly, Ewa Kopacz also informed on the decision of the Polish Government to provide credit assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 100 million, which can be used by Ukraine for the projects on the restoration of the Donbas and the implementation of reforms.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that Poland had decided to allocate additional 500 scholarships, for students from the families of servicemen and Donbas inhabitants to have an opportunity to study in Poland.
Besides, Ewa Kopacz invited Petro Poroshenko to take part in festivities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Auschwitz liberation.
The Prime Minister of Poland is accompanied by ministers of finance, culture and national heritage, infrastructure and development, science and higher education, national education, as well as deputy ministers of foreign affairs, economy and national defense.
