IMF, World Bank approve Ukrainian government's efforts to implement reforms - Foreign Minister
30.07.2014 14:17 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
"The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank positively assess the Ukrainian government’s efforts to implement the reforms required by international loan agreements," NRCU reports quoting the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin as speaking in Washington, DC, on Wednesday while winding up his three-day working visit to the United States.
«I have a very clear impression that they understand stability of the situation in Ukraine and our consistency in implementing reforms. Right after voting on Thursday, the World Bank and IMF boards will meet to make the relevant decisions,» Klimkin said in an interview with the Voice of America. According to him, the ball is in the Ukrainian parliament’s court: everything depends on the adoption of the required legislative acts at the Ukrainian parliament’s extraordinary session on Thursday.
It is to be admitted, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said earlier this week that Ukraine wouldn’t receive new loans from the IMF and World Bank if the lawmakers didn’t vote for the government-proposed bills.
