USA intensifies efforts to support Ukraine

As of the last week, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held consultations with Vice President of the United States Joseph Biden in the course of which the parties discussed further steps on de-escalation of the situation in the Donbas, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
The U. S. Vice President expressed condolences to the people of Ukraine over numerous casualties among Ukrainian servicemen as a result of the shelling by Russian BM-21 «Grad».
Joseph Biden assured the Ukrainian President that the USA was ready to intensify international efforts in order to find ways of peaceful settlement. Particularly, the parties discussed close coordination of actions between Ukraine, USA and European partners. The Ukrainian President noted that transatlantic solidarity would be crucial in further efforts.
Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the United States for the support and willingness for further efforts, particularly in the international arena, aimed at ensuring territorial integrity and inviolability of the Ukrainian borders for the establishment of peace and stability.
Today, the President of Ukraine also held negotiations with Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi and President of Romania Traian Băsescu. On Monday, the President is to hold negotiations with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
