Yatseniuk: Ukraine ready for consultations with Russia on implementation of EU association accord
25.06.2014 18:14 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine is ready to dispel Russia’s fears over the signing of the economic part of the association and free trade agreement with the European Union at technical consultations, NRCU reports quoting the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk as saying.
«Ukraine is ready to hold public technical consultations on the implementation of the agreement. Let Russia tell us what the risks are for them,» Yatseniuk emphasized opening a session of the Ukrainian government in Kyiv on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister compared the current situation to the one that existed in 2005 when Russia feared Ukraine’s entry to the World Trade Organization into which Russia tried to get before Ukraine.
Yatseniuk also called on Russia and others countries to fulfill the CIS free trade agreement and ordered to take measures in case Russia would violate this accord. Ukraine is ready to draft a package of measures to possible violations of the CIS free trade agreement on behalf of Russia, he said. «Ukraine will prepare appropriate measures in case Russia violates the Ukraine-CIS free trade agreement,» Yatseniuk said.
